AREA SEARCH & AREA TOURS
Unless you have visited Brittany on numerous occasions, be it for work or on holidays, it is difficult to know what part of Brittany would suit the lifestyle you would like to have and, your requirements are different, depending on whether you are moving permanently to Brittany, or wanting a holiday home here.
The following is an example of some of the questions you need to find the answers to and how we can help you to find those answers and choose the right part of Brittany for you to buy your French property in.
SOME OF THE QUESTIONS YOU
NEED TO ASK
Q1) Where would your budget allow you to buy the type of property you would like to buy?
Q2) How important is the climate to you?
Q3) How and how often might you need to get back to the UK
Q4) Do you need to have schooling near by?
Q5) Will you or some one in your family, be relying on public transport?
Q6) Is anyone an avid gym user or golfer or would someone in your family need to be close to an athletic size swimming pool for training regular say?
Q7) Do you or someone in your family need to travel to other parts of europe on a regular basis for work?
Q8) What do you plan to do to earn a living?
JUST A SAMPLE OF WHAT THOSE
ANSWERS MAY BE
A1) £150,000.00 would get you that country manor house in the region of Cotes d'armor (22) but may well allow you to buy an entire gite complex (holiday rental business) in the region of Finistere (29)
A2) Whilst the south of Brittany has a marginally warmer climate than say the north west, if you are an avid gardener, rain is all important to keep your lawns and flower beds alive throughout the summer.
A3) Ferries are easy to reach from the northern areas of Brittany but some people may struggle with a regular 6 - 8 hour stretch on a ferry, however you can get back to the uk from any number of airports in between 2-4 hours from the south.
A4) Often, even quite large towns don't have the equivilent of a high school, so many students have to travel far and wide every day to get to there school in the cotes d'armor area, while the Ille de villaine have numerous high schools in the west but few in the east of the region.
A5) Public transport is said to be really good throughout France in general, but we have found the western and southern counties are often lacking, so an in depth check really needs to be carried out if someone has to commute to work or university say or if hubbys away with the car for the day and the lady of the house is stranded when trying to pick up the children from school.
A6) While there are many golf courses throughout Brittany, I have struggled to find a gymnastics class for my daughter here in Josselin, so if you are planning to take up any particular sport or pass time it's not a good idea to assume facilities are everywhere as they are in the uk.
A7) Traveling to other parts of europe can be easy in most area's of brittany, but some may find it difficult from the Finistere department as this is very agricultural and travelin long distances to get to an airport which will take you to other parts of europe without having to change over at different airports may prove difficult.
A8) If you have already gained the language, there is a good chance you would be able to have your pick of the caree you would like to follow, but not always. A country setting would be great for the children, but if your forte is in big business, running a multinational company, this may be difficult to find in the region of say Cotes d' Armor as this is very much a tourist orientated area, but then again, with further investigation you may find Cotes d' Armor has just the job you are looking for.

So the service we provide would be, in the first instance, to ask the right questions, then research the
area's you may be considering, to determine which would suit your requirements.
We can then narrow down the number of search areas you actually can consider.
We then research some more to discover which more localized towns and villages have the facilities you require.
A written report is sent to you with our findings and recommendations for you to make an informed decision as to which town or village you would like to visit to get the feel of the place, already knowing that everything you or your family will need is there. We can then arrange a visit for you where you will be able to focus on what sort of property you find appealing before we start your property search properly.
The area Search is €200
The follow up visit, by you and escorted by us is €300 for a one day tour.
If this search and visit is then followed by a property search these services are offered for
the combined price of €400 (subject to a property search mandate being signed and receipt of payment)
The property search fee is €500 which is fully refund able when you have purchased your
property in France, through us.
